We have a
knowledgeable staff whose primary concern is your
child’s needs. Our staff members have credentials in
Physical Education, and are Safety certified. They are
professional members of USA Gymnastics Federation and
have gone through an extensive training in teaching all
levels of gymnastics.

CERTIFIED BY THE NATIONAL OFFICE OF USA GYMNASTICS.

Waldemar "Valdi" Kolasa
Head Coach
Valdi has a B.S. Degree in Physical Education from
Northern Illinois University. He competed for the
National Team of Poland and NCAA Division I Team at NIU.
Valdi participated and was a medalist in many national
and international competitions. Currently, Valdi is a
Professional Member of USA Gymnastics and a Certified
Skill Evaluator. He has taught gymnastics since 1990. And
coached many medalists on the State, Regional, and
National Championships. |

Ann Kolasa
Head Coach, Girls Team Program
Ann, a former competitive gymnast, has enjoyed
working over the last two decades with gymnasts across several
states and in the Caribbean. Most recently she held the
position Head Coach for the Chelsea Piers Girls' Team in Manhattan.
She has coached many gymnasts to State, Regional and National
Championships and has coached multiple gymnasts to full athletic
scholarships. Originally from Cincinnati, Ohio, Ann's
adventures in coaching took her to the Bahamas and then back to her
hometown to work at Cincinnati Gymnastics with her mentor, Mary Lee
Tracy, before returning to the East Coast. Ann holds a B.S. in Psychology from Xavier
University in Cincinnati, Ohio and an M.A. in Clinical Psychology
from Teacher’s College at Columbia University.

Wesley Marutani
Coach, Girls Team and JOGA
Born in Philadelphia, Wes attended Temple University
where he majored in psychology and minored in sciences. Has been
coaching professionally since 1976. Past accomplishments as a coach
include coaching sixteen elite level gymnasts. Four of these gymnasts
were USAG International Traveling Team, one was USAG National Squad.
These athletes were chosen after qualifying and competing in the
championships of the USA (the top annual Elite competition in the
country). At championships, the top ten are the national Team
(international meets) and numbers eleven through twenty are the National
Squad. |

Mary Ann Hawk

Patricia Supthen
Coach, USAG Girls
Team
Patricia has over 30 years of coaching
experience and joined Arena in 2006. In 2007 & 2008 alone,
Trisch coached many athletes at levels 7-10 to titles at the State &
Regional Championships.
